What we actually do for you

Art Painting by Numbers turns your artwork, your photograph or simply an idea into a finished, branded, compliance-tested paint by numbers kit — and then either ships it to you in bulk or ships it one parcel at a time directly to your customers. Everything between those two points happens inside our own factory in Tianjin: design, canvas printing, paint colour matching and filling, brush assembly, kitting, packaging, inspection and export documentation.

That matters commercially, not just operationally. When one supplier owns every stage, there is one lead time to plan against instead of four, one party accountable when something is wrong, and no intermediary margin buried inside your unit cost. Buyers who source canvas from one vendor, paint from another and packaging from a third usually end up managing the integration themselves — and discovering at assembly stage that the paint strip does not fit the box insert.

Below are the ten services we provide. Most customers use four or five of them; almost everybody starts with design, manufacturing and packaging.

1. Free design and artwork conversion

Our in-house designers convert your photograph, illustration, logo or written concept into a production-ready numbered canvas layout — free of charge when you place a production order, including unlimited revisions on the digital proof.

• Segmentation and colour quantisation tuned for paintability, not just visual fidelity
• Colour count optimisation — reducing an automatic 40-colour trace to the 20–28 colours that paint better on a 40 × 50 cm canvas
• Segment resizing so no area is too small for a standard brush, the main cause of unfinished kits
• Number sizing for readability, including 5–6 mm accessible layouts for senior and low-vision ranges
• Paint recipe creation and physical colour matching against Pantone references or a supplied swatch
• Packaging dieline design, artwork placement, barcode positioning and compliance label layout
• Range development for ODM customers — a coherent collection built to a brief rather than ten unrelated designs

2. Custom kit manufacturing (OEM & ODM)

We build kits to your specification from the canvas up. OEM means you supply the artwork and specification; ODM means we develop the product and range for you against a brief you set. Both run on the same lines, with the same quality control, and both carry your brand.

3. Private label, white label and branded packaging

Eleven brandable components in a single kit. You can change one or rebuild the whole thing.

• Canvas — your logo as a corner mark on the printed artwork, or a stamp on the reverse of a framed canvas
• Paints — custom-matched colours, your choice of pot volume, numbered to your layout
• Brushes — handles in natural wood, lacquered in your brand colour, or laser-engraved with your logo
• Reference card and guide card — printed on your card stock, in your layout and languages
• Thank-you card — full colour with your QR code, discount offer or review request, from $0.03 per unit
• Packaging — printed colour box, rigid magnetic gift box, kraft mailer, window box, peg-hook format, tubes
• Labelling — EAN-13, UPC, Amazon FNSKU, batch codes, origin marking and multilingual warnings

4. Wholesale and bulk supply

Factory-direct bulk kits at tiered pricing, from a ready library of more than 500 production-tested designs or from your own artwork. Assorted orders start at 300 sets total with no per-design minimum, which is the lowest-risk way to build a range: ten designs at thirty sets each tells you what sells before you commit to depth.

5. Dropshipping and single-order fulfilment

No minimum order, no inventory, no warehouse. We pick, kit, pack and blind-ship individual orders directly to your customers worldwide, in plain packaging that carries no reference to us — and your thank-you card inside.

• 24–48 hour dispatch on stocked designs; 3–5 days on custom photo kits
• Tracked delivery: 9–16 days to the US and Canada, 10–18 days to the UK and Europe, 3–8 days by express courier
• Order intake by Shopify or WooCommerce sync, daily CSV, REST API or email
• Automatic tracking write-back, live stock counts, product data pack with licensed imagery

6. Sampling and pre-production

We would rather you paint one of our kits than trust a photograph. Sample cost for a ready design is product plus courier, typically $25–$45 delivered, and is refunded in full against your first production order — so sampling is free for anyone who goes on to buy. Custom pre-production samples built from your artwork take 3–5 working days and use the actual production materials, not a mock-up.

7. Quality control and inspection

Four inspection points rather than one final check, because a defect found at kitting costs nothing and the same defect found after cartons are sealed costs everything.

Third-party inspection is welcomed rather than tolerated — appoint SGS, Bureau Veritas, QIMA or any agency you prefer, at your cost, and we will host them at the factory. Stated tolerances: canvas ±2 mm, print registration ±0.5 mm, paint fill ±5%, colour ΔE ≤ 3.0, carton ±3 mm, quantity ±3% invoiced at actual count.

8. Compliance, testing and certification

We treat compliance as a manufacturing specification set at quotation stage, not a document produced afterwards. Tell us your destination country and target age group and we build to the correct regime.

• EN71-1, -2, -3 — EU toy safety: mechanical properties, flammability, heavy metal migration
• ASTM F963 and CPSIA — United States toy safety, lead and phthalate limits, tracking labels
• REACH — EU chemical restrictions on the paint formulation
• CE / UKCA marking — conformity marking for regulated categories
• ISO 9001 and BSCI — quality management and social audit where a retailer requires them

Testing is arranged through accredited third-party laboratories and reports can be issued in your company name, so you can present them to a retailer, a marketplace or a customs authority as your own documentation. Laboratory turnaround adds 7–10 days, so book it at proof stage rather than after production.

9. Logistics and export documentation

Our default Incoterm is FOB Tianjin. Tianjin Xingang is roughly an hour's drive from the factory, so inland haulage is short and cheap — a genuine landed-cost advantage over suppliers loading at southern ports. We also quote EXW, CFR, CIF and DDP, including DDP delivery straight into an Amazon FBA warehouse.

Documents supplied on the day of shipment: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, certificate of origin, and test reports where applicable. Paint by numbers ships on volume rather than weight, so we quote carton dimensions and volumetric weight with every price — see FOB Tianjin explained for the working.

10. Content, product photography and after-sales support

Content. On registration for our dropshipping programme, or alongside a private label order, we supply a product data pack: high-resolution images on white and lifestyle backgrounds at square, 4:5 and 16:9 crops, SEO titles, long descriptions, bullet-point features, dimensions and weights, and suggested retail prices by market. You are licensed to use it across your own sales channels. Bespoke product photography and short-form video for launch campaigns can be commissioned separately.

After-sales. Report a problem within 14 days with photographs and we will replace the affected units in your next shipment, issue a credit note, or refund that portion — your choice. Lost-parcel claims on dropshipping orders are ours to pursue with the carrier, not yours. Our position on claims, tolerances and remedies is written into the terms of service rather than left to a chat message.

2. Get a firm, itemised quotation. Within 24 hours, broken down by component so you can see exactly where the money goes and where you could economise. Free design and unlimited proof revisions included.
3. Paint a sample. One evening with a physical kit tells you more than any specification sheet. Cost refunded against your first production order.
4. Approve, produce, inspect, ship. 30% deposit to schedule the run, 8–15 days production, AQL inspection with photographs, balance before shipment, then FOB Tianjin or DDP to your door.
